C&I Solar Team Leader
BEng(Hons) , MEng
Darcy has worked as an Engineer across a number of disciplines including electrical, mechanical and environmental engineering. Darcy has experience working with a number of consultants, solar installation companies, researchers and grid operators, which has provided him with valuable insight into many facets of the wider solar industry.
As the C&I Team Leader at CTP, Darcy oversees the behind-the-meter solar projects and DC and LV AC design of the utility scale projects. As a project manager and engineer he has taken a lead role in projects both in the detailed design space partnering with EPCs and in a technical advisory capacity for investors and large energy users. Darcy has also taken a lead role at CTP as an energy modelling specialist, conducting feasibility studies for both utility scale solar farm and hybrid/off-grid projects, accumulating experience on over 1 GW of projects with this focus. In a technical advisory capacity, Darcy has overseen a number of high profile projects including the 35 MWp Maryrorough Solar Farm and 20 MWp Baking Board Solar Farm in Queensland and the 6 MWp Peterbrough and Port Pirie Solar Farms in South Australia; while he has led the detailed design of high profile projects including the 12MWp Melbourne Airport Solar Farm and SA Water Solar Rollout for a number of their sites totalling more than 20MWp.
Darcy’s understanding of both the technical and economic drivers allows him to adopt a holistic approach, identifying the key risks and technical constraints of these projects and opportunities that can benefit his clients. This perspective allows Darcy to translate the key engineering elements that can impact the financial success of a project to ensure the client gets the maximum value out of a venture.
