Power Systems Engineer
David is a Power Systems Engineer with a passion for renewable energy (sustainability and future technologies) and product management. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Honours) with Deakin University.
As a part of the Power Systems team at CTP, David has been involved in a range of projects, including utility scale energy hubs (up to 660MW) of varying technologies and hybrid projects such as retrofitting large BESS (up to 5MW) into existing solar farms. The power systems work involved modelling with industry standard software (using Python for scripting), steady state analysis, load flow and short circuit analysis, dynamic studies as well as power quality studies.
He is proficient with industry standard software used for power system studies such as DigSILENT Powerfactory, PSS Sincal, PSS/E and PSCAD. He also has an understanding of the Chapter 5 grid application process and Australian Standards such as AS3000, AS3008, AS4777, AS61000, AS5139, AS5033 etc.
