Franco has 5 years of experience in the power distribution and generation industries within the areas of power system studies and design. Franco holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in electrical engineering both with major in power systems.
Before joining CTP, Franco worked in Chile for a large electric utility in design and standardisation of the MV and LV distribution networks, and HV/MV substations. Franco also has experience in Canada working with the operations and maintenance of gas power plants and wind farms.
Franco specialises in power system studies: load flow, economic dispatch, short circuit, transient stability, protection coordination, and arc flash. He is proficient in PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, and Powerfactory software packages as well as Python and MATLAB programming languages.
Franco is a chartered engineer and has knowledge of the National Energy Market generator connection process, NER rules and generator performance standards (GPS).
